Why us

Stucco work that holds up in the high desert

Albuquerque’s sun, wind, monsoon storms and freezing nights are hard on stucco. Here’s how we make repairs last.

  • We fix the cause, not just the crack

A crack or stain is a symptom. We look for the movement, the leaking canale or the sprinkler behind it, so the repair lasts.

  • Texture that matches

Smooth, sand, dash or hand-troweled Santa Fe. We match your existing texture so repairs blend into the wall.

  • Honest about color

Sun-aged stucco is hard to match exactly. We’ll tell you when a patch will show and when a corner-to-corner color coat is the better choice.

  • Built to keep water out

Parapets, canales, flashing and weep screed done right, so monsoon rain and snowmelt run off the wall instead of into it.

  • Made for the high desert

Strong sun, spring wind, monsoon storms and freezing nights. We choose materials and schedule work with Albuquerque weather in mind.

  • Clean, careful job sites

Windows, landscaping and walkways are protected while we work, and we clean up before we leave.

Repair or recoat?

Most houses don’t need a full re-stucco

When stucco looks tired, it’s easy to assume the whole house needs to be redone. Often it doesn’t. If the stucco is still well attached, repairing the damaged areas and applying a fresh color coat gives the house an even, like-new finish for much less work than a full re-stucco.

When stucco is loose, hiding water damage or cracked all over, we’ll tell you that too, and explain why a re-stucco is the longer-lasting fix.

FAQ

Common questions

The questions we hear most from Albuquerque homeowners.

See All FAQs

How much does stucco work cost?

It depends on the type of work, the size of the area, what caused the damage, the condition of the existing stucco and the finish you choose. We give you a written estimate after looking at your home in person, and we don’t guess at prices without seeing the wall.

Are cracks in stucco normal?

Fine hairline cracks are common in cement stucco and are often cosmetic. Cracks that are wider, growing, running diagonally from window and door corners, or offset (one side sticking out past the other) are worth having looked at, because they can let water in or point to movement.

What is a color coat?

A color coat is the final, textured finish layer of stucco, and it carries the color. Applying a new color coat over sound stucco gives the whole wall an even color and fresh texture, without a full re-stucco.

Can stucco work be done in winter?

Stucco must not freeze while it cures, so cold-weather work needs planning. Smaller repairs can often be done on mild winter days. Larger jobs are best scheduled for spring through fall, and we plan around monsoon storms in late summer.
