How Stucco Repair Works in Albuquerque

Four steps, one point of contact. Here’s what happens from the moment you reach out to the day we walk the finished work with you.

  1. Step 1

    Free on-site inspection

We come out, look at the stucco and talk through what you’re seeing.

We look at the damage up close, check for signs of water and movement, and figure out whether you have traditional or synthetic stucco. We also check the parapets, canales, flashing and the base of the walls, because that’s where problems usually start.

If you’re thinking about a new color or texture, we bring samples so you can see them on your own walls in daylight.

  2. Step 2

    Clear written estimate

You get a written estimate that explains exactly what we’ll do and why.

The estimate spells out the scope: what gets repaired, what gets removed, the finish and color, and an expected timeline. If there’s more than one way to fix the problem, we explain the options.

No pressure to decide on the spot.

  3. Step 3

    Prep, repair and finish

We protect your property, do the repair in proper layers and finish it to match.

We cover windows, doors and landscaping, remove damaged material, correct any lath, flashing or weep screed issues and rebuild the stucco coat by coat, giving each coat time to cure. Then we apply the finish in the texture and color you chose.

We schedule around the weather, because stucco shouldn’t freeze or bake while it cures.

  4. Step 4

    Walkthrough and cleanup

We clean up and walk the finished work with you.

We remove debris, clean walkways and windows, and walk around the house with you to look at the finished work. We also point out anything worth watching, like a sprinkler head that hits the wall or a canale that drains toward the house.

If you have questions later, you call the same number you called the first time.

Getting ready for your estimate

None of this is required, but it helps us give you a better recommendation.

  • Take note of where you’ve seen cracks, stains, bubbling or loose stucco, and when you first noticed them.
  • Think about whether the damage gets worse after rain, snow or when the sprinklers run.
  • If you’re in an HOA or historic area, have your color guidelines handy.
  • If you’re considering a new color or texture, save a few photos of homes you like.
  • Have a rough idea of your timeline.

Process questions

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. The on-site inspection and your written estimate are free, and you’re under no obligation.

How long does a stucco job take?

A small repair can often be done quickly, but each coat of stucco needs time to cure before the next goes on, and the finish needs good weather. Larger jobs such as a full re-stucco take longer. You’ll get an expected timeline with your estimate.

Do I need to be home while you work?

Not for most of the job, as long as we have access to the walls we’re working on. We like to walk through the work with you at the start and again when we finish.
